There’s a few well loved Italian varieties on our vineyard; Nebbiolo is definitely one of them and it’s well suited to the King Valley.
We first planted Nebbiolo in the late 90s and made our first vintage in ‘03. We love seeing the bigger more tannic styles that develop well with age - this is a great example!
The nose has notes of rose, cranberry and a little aged leather giving way to a beautifully developed and savoury palate showing subtle black tea. The tannins have softened nicely with age but still have great length and benefit from a great food pairing.
Love doing this with rich stews - think traditional French cassoulet.
